Obituary
Wilbur Williams, 85, of Lincoln
passed away at 5:30 p.m. Friday October 5, 2018 at
his residence.
Wilbur was born on January 22, 1933 in Brin Hill,
the son of Raymond and Opal Chapman Williams. He
married Virginia L. Taylor on June 26, 1955 in
Oblong. She preceded him in death on October 29,
2008.
Surviving are three children, Donald
(Marla) Williams of Lincoln, Ronald Williams of
Lincoln and Lesliea (James) Palmer of Mt. Zion and
six grandchildren: Amy Williams of Springfield, Ryan
(Allison) Williams of Lincoln, Valorie (James)
Litton of Brownsburg, IN, Douglas Palmer of
Springfield, Drue Palmer of Highland, and Sommer
Williams of Lincoln. Additionally, Wilbur is
survived by five great-grandchildren.

Wilbur was the principal at the
Lincoln Junior High. He served his country in the
United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #263 in
Lincoln for many years, as well as the Old Ivory
Club, Llewellin Club, and the National Education
Association.
Services for Wilbur will be held at 10:00 a.m. on
Thursday, October 11, 2018 at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, October 10, 2018 also at the funeral
home. Burial will follow the services at New Union
Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded
by the Lincoln American Legion Post #263.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln American Legion
or to the Lincoln School District #27.
