[October 18, 2018]  LINCOLN — Helen Louise Leesman, 88, of Lincoln, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. She was formerly of Hartsburg.

Service:  11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley

Obituary

Helen Louise Leesman, 88, of Lincoln, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. She was formerly of Hartsburg.

Born November 25, 1929 in Beason to Abshure H. and Frances L. (Wilson) Rogers, she married Lawrence Joseph Leesman on September 25, 1949 in Beason. He died February 19, 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Pushala; and five brothers, Baxter Rogers, George Rogers, Paul Rogers, William Rogers, and one in infancy.

Surviving are two sons, Rick (Amy) Leesman of Pekin and Randy (Linda) Leesman of Port St. Lucie, Florida; two grandchildren, Scott (Nikki) Leesman of East Peoria and Joseph Leesman of Pekin; one brother, Robert (Doris) Rogers of Lincoln; and two sisters, Shirley (Darrell) Brown of Apache Junction, Arizona and Kay Boyd of New York.

Helen worked at Stetson China Company in Lincoln as a painter and later for Lehn and Fink Company in Lincoln for over 30 years.

She was a member of St. John’s (Sand Prairie) Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hartsburg.

Helen was a talented painter and enjoyed playing pinochle and bingo.

Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Green Valley. Pastor Chris Sansom and DCE Bill Krueger will officiate. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery in Hartsburg.
