LINCOLN
LIVE UNITED. What does that mean?
The United Way of Logan County has been working for 57 years in our
community. The mission of the United Way is to improve lives by
mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world. The
United Way envisions a world where all individuals and families
achieve their human potential through education, income stability
and healthy lives.
Each year the United Way of Logan County, along with other United
Ways all over the state, nation and the world, conducts a campaign
to raise funds, which are distributed to partner agencies that
provide services in the county. Funding is provided by generous
employers, their employees and individuals throughout the county.
The money raised in Logan County, stays in Logan County. Money also
comes into Logan County from other United Way Campaigns thanks to
affiliation with the national organization. The local organization
pays $1,500 a year to United Way Worldwide for access to that
network. This is approximately one percent of the annual local
budget.
For 2019, the United Way has pledged to partner with 14 non-profits
to provide a portion of the funding they need to continue to provide
needed services in our community.
