Obituary
Francis E. Mereighn, 87, of Lincoln
passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the St.
Clara's Rehab and Senior Center in Lincoln.
Graveside Services for Francis will be held on
Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion
Cemetery in Lincoln with Mr. Ron Otto officiating.
Francis Edward Merreighn was born in Rock Island,
the son of Raymond E. and Jessie Wallace Merreighn.
He was united in marriage to Helen Wade in Lincoln.
She preceded him in death on December 30, 2009.
He is survived by his children: Patricia (Leroy)
Cobb, Jack (Roberta) Mereighn, Daniel Mereighn, and
Francis (Kathy) Merreighn Jr., Step children:
Charles Grimsley, John Grimsley and Robert Frye; and
many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great
great grandchildren. |
He was preceded in death by two sons: Ronnie and Greg
Merreighn; one daughter: June Cook; one step-son: Joe Grimsley;
three step daughters: Mary Frye, Helen Frye, and Candy Frye, two
sisters: Helen Weber and Roseann Millville.
Francis had worked as a railroad locomotive engineer, on the line at
Stetson's China and at Obernesther (bottle factory) along with
groundskeeper at Lincoln College.
Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
