Lincoln College Soccer Tops LCU in Home Finale

[October 19, 2018]    The Lincoln College Men’s Soccer team made their final home match of the season a memorable one with an 8-1 rout of the visiting team from Lincoln Christian University (NAIA).

Two players for Lincoln College achieved “hat trick” status by scoring three times in the match. Junior Adrian Roman (Waukegan) and sophomore Ignacio Ximenez each found the back of the net three times in the match. In addition, Moline, IL natives Juan Rivera and Abdoulaye Diawara each scored a goal for Lincoln.

Lincoln Coach Ben Massena saw all positives in his team’s performance. “We moved the ball well and created chances to score which is exactly what we set out to do,” said Massena. “It was a good win and a nice way to end up our home season.”

The win moves LC’s record to 5-5 on the year. Lincoln’s final three matches will all be road games. Next up will be a match on October 20th at Maranatha Baptist Bile College in Wisconsin.
