Local 4-H to offer Coding Workshop & Robotics Club

[October 27, 2018]  LINCOLN - Logan County 4-H is offering a Beginner Coding Workshop as well as a Robotics Club interest meeting in November.

A Beginner Coding Workshop for youth ages 8 & older will take place on Thursday, November 8th from 6:30—8:00 pm. Youth will learn beginning steps of the process of how to “code” through use of the National Youth Science Day “Code Your World” kits. The kits were designed to help youth discover more about computer science with “hands-on fun”. There is no charge to attend the Coding workshop.

Also planned is the formation of a 4-H Robotics SPIN (Special Interest) Club! “LoCo Robotics” will host an Interest Meeting for the 4-H Robotics Club on Saturday, November 10th from 2 – 4 pm. Robotics club is open to ages 8-18 and members build and program a robot using LEGO Mindstorm EV3 kits. Costs: “New to 4-H members” - $20 Annual 4-H Program Fee; ALL participants – additional $20 supply fee. There is no charge to attend Interest meeting.

Both events will be held at the Logan County Extension Office, 980 N. Postville Drive, Lincoln and pre-registration is required.
