[September 04, 2018] A picture says a thousand words. Your Lincoln
Railers finished the East Peoria tourney in terrific fashion today
with 2 more shutouts. The perfect 4-0 record, giving up only one
goal all weekend, gave us the tourney championship. In the first game against Eisenhower, the team won
in convincing fashion 7-0. Goals were by Garrett Slack (2), Jace
Mcintosh (2), Carter Robison, AJ Beard, and Jackson Van Fossan.
Payton Lanning and the defense held Eisenhower to 0 shots on goal. In
the second game, we faced defending 1A state tournament runner up
Monmouth Roseville. Dean Harris got us on the board early with a 55
yard free kick that found the back of the net. Just a few minutes
later, Brandon D’Andrea was taken down in the box for a PK. After
that the team held strong and the midfield and defense kept Monmouth
under pressure. In the end we picked up the second shutout of the
day and 4th on the season.
