[September 17, 2018]  England's Paul Broadhurst got off to a hot start and rolled to victory Sunday at the inaugural Ally Championship in Grand Blanc, Mich.

A 6-under-par-66 at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club left Broadhurst at 15-under 201 for the three-round event. He wound up two shots clear of Brandt Jobe, who closed with a 67.

The three players who began the final round tied for the lead all fell back significantly. Tom Lehman carded a 70 to end up tied for third at 12 under. Jeff Maggert finished tied for eighth at 10 under after a 72, and Scott McCarron stumbled to a 77 that left him tied for 33rd at 5 under.

Mark O'Meara (69) shared third place with Lehman. Gene Sauers (66), Rocco Mediate (66) and David Toms (68) tied for fifth.

Broadhurst birdied the opening hole, then added a run of three consecutive birdies from No. 5 to No. 7, making the turn at 4 under for the day. He made his lone bogey of the day at No. 11 but rebounded with three more birdies coming home, including at No. 18.

He now owns five PGA Tour Champions titles in his career, including a tour-high three this year.

"Pretty special," Broadhurst said, according to golfdigest.com. "I was seriously not about to play this week. I was back home last week and pulled a muscle in my back. The physio's done a great job out here this week to get me fit. Obviously pleased to be here and win once again in Michigan."

The result will move Broadhurst from eighth to sixth on the Charles Schwab Cup money list.

Jobe parred all nine holes before making the turn Sunday, then birdied five of the next six holes in a bogey-free round.

Lehman would have tied for second if not for a bogey on the final hole.
