The job of a humane investigator is to check out
complaints of animals being neglected or abused.
Investigators are licensed by the state after passing a test on
Illinois animal law. Usually these tests are given in late October
or early November. The license is in effect for two years.
This is a volunteer job which involves direct
contact with the public as well as paper work that needs to be
completed. Some classes will be held to help prepare for the state
test.
If you are interested, contact Wanda before Friday, September
28th. Visit the shelter or call 217-737-4042 or 217-648-2703.
