Two arrested on narcotics related
charges Thursday

LINCOLN
On September 20, 2018, an investigation conducted by the Central
Illinois Enforcement Group (CIEG) into the distribution of several
narcotics from a home in the 1000 block of Tremont Street in
Lincoln, Logan County, ended in the arrest of 22 year old Phillip M
Barnd of Lincoln for Manufacturer/Delivery of Controlled Substance
which is a Class X felony. Also arrested was a 20 year old Ricky
Webb of Peoria, Illinois, for a two outstanding arrest warrants.
Barnd and Webb were transported to the Logan County Jail.
The Central Illinois Enforcement Group (CIEG) is a
multi-jurisdictional narcotics task force which has served the
District 9 area since 1986. The Central Illinois Enforcement Group
is comprised of officers from the Illinois State Police, Athens
Police Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State
Police, Jacksonville Police Department, Lincoln Police Department,
Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, Pana Police Department, Sangamon
County Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Police Department, and the
Taylorville Police Department.
This investigation is still open and in progress by the Central
Illinois Enforcement Group. The arrest charges are merely
allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and
until proven guilty. All reports will be forwarded to the Logan
County State’s Attorney for review.
