[September 27, 2018]  LINCOLN - Carol A. Leininger, 82, of Lincoln, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

Rosary:  9:45 a.m. Saturday, September 15 at Holy Family Church, Lincoln

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln     

Obituary

Carol A. Leininger, 82, of Lincoln, passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018, at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Holy Family Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Pham officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln.

The Rosary will be held at 9:45 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday.

Carol A. Leininger was born December 16, 1935, in Lincoln, the daughter of John L. and Flossie W. Huber Leininger.

She is survived by one brother, Jack (Vickie) Leininger; six nieces and nephews: Steve (Pam) Schreiner of Lincoln, Mark (Kathy) Schreiner of Greenview, Michelle (Mike) May of Jacksonville, Kim (Tom) Rybolt of Edwardsville, Dawn (Jeff) Schmidt of Batavia, and Brett (Kara) Leininger of Normal; one brother-in-law, Francis Schreiner of Broadwell; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Director

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Claire Schreiner; one brother, Lawrence Leininger; and one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Leininger.

Carol attended Hatton Grade School and graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1953. She was a member of the Busy Belles 4-H Club. She was also a member of Holy Family Church and the Holy Family Rosary Society. In her early years, Carol worked for Clappers Tire and Auto as a Bookkeeper. Then she worked at LDC in the Dietary Department and retired from there. She kept very active at the Christian Village by participating in as many activities as she could as a resident.

The family would like to thank the staff and many friends at the Christian Village for their kindness and care of Carol.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church, Carroll Catholic School, or The Christian Village.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
