Mahomet-Seymour Softball sweeps Lincoln in doubleheader

Mahomet-Seymour wins game
one 14-4 and takes game two by a score of 19-1.
The Lincoln Railers were
crushed 14-4 by Mahomet-Seymour Tuesday afternoon. The
Railers trailed early 5-0 but managed to score three runs in
the top of the third inning to make it a ballgame. Mya Kate
Kirgan's two-run triple was the big hit of the inning. Bayleigh
Gillum added an RBI groundout. The Railers added another run
in the top of the fourth inning. Ryen Stoltzenburg crushed
an RBI double to centerfield that scored Chloe Laubenstein
to make the score 5-4 in favor of the Bulldogs.
Mahomet-Seymour busted the game open with six runs in the
bottom of the fourth inning and took an 11-4 lead. The
Bulldogs pounded out 17 hits in all and ran away with the
14-4 win over Lincoln in six innings.
Abbie Glenn took the loss
for Lincoln.

Mya Kate Kirgan led the Railers
with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate. She drove in two
runs and scored one.
Chloe Laubenstein was
2-for-4 with a run scored. Sydney Worth was 1-for-3 for
Lincoln.

Railers only run on an RBI groundout by Emily Paulus as
Mahomet-Seymour takes game two by a final score of 19-1 in
four innings. Abbie Glenn suffered the loss. She
was relieved by Zoey Lowe, who pitched two innings.
