Ashby Sets LC Long Jump Record, Both Teams Take 2nd at MU Invite

The Lincoln College Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field teams both took 2nd
place at the seven-team Big Blue Invite hosted by Millikin University on Saturday.

Placing first for the women’s team was the 4x100 Relay team of Jasmine Watson, Jaylissa Timothy, Brianna Neal and Shay Goble. In the 100M, Amazing Ashby (2nd), Jaylissa Timothy (4th) and Jasmine Watson (6th) all placed in the top 8. Shay Goble won the 400M hurdles. Asia Rance was 4th in the 200M. April Goetz continued her dominance in the distance races with another 1st place finish in the 5K.

The 4x400M team of Asia Rance, Brianna Neal, Shay Goble and Aurora Board took 4th in the event. Morgan Meyer placed 3rd in the high jump, and, in the long jump, Amazing Ashby set a new school record of 19’ 3/4 “, placing her 1st. Brianna Neal and Jaylissa Neal took 4th and 6th in the same event. Brianna Neal and Morgan Meyer placed 4th and 7th in the Javelin.

For the men’s team, the 4x100M Relay team of Desmond Berdell, Deriek Lawless, Eugeene Williba and Alexze Whatley finished in second place. Christian Raymond and Abdoulaye Sylla took 5th and 7th in the 400M. In the 100M, Roman Hampton came in 3rd, Rodman Teltull 6th and Josh Turner was 8th. Ed Lopez was 7th in the 800M.

Roman Hampton and Rodman Teltull claimed 2nd and 8th in the 200M. Zack Akers was 3rd in the 5K. The 4x400M team of Ed Lopez, Roman Hampton, Christian Raymond and Rodman Teltull earned 2nd in the event. Sabree Bakari and Josiah Neal came in 2nd and 5th in the high jump. Deriek Lawless was 6th in the long jump. Josiah Neal placed 3rd in the triple jump and Jaiden Nelson had a busy day placing 5th in the shot, 3rd in the discus, 3rd in the hammer and 3rd in the javelin.

Both teams will be off until April 27th when they will compete at the Illinois College Invite.
