Williamsville defeats Mount Pulaski 12-5

Mount Pulaski hosted Williamsville last Tuesday and the Bullets got
the best of the Hilltoppers by a score of 12-5.
The Bullets struck first with a run in the top of the first.
Mount Pulaski tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the inning on an
RBI groundout by Logan DeRight. Drew Martin had tripled earlier in
the inning and came around to score on DeRight's hit.
Mount Pulaski took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning,
taking advantage of a couple errors by the Bullets. Martin scored
the run to give the Hilltoppers the lead.
An RBI double by Martin in the fourth inning put Mount Pulaski up
3-1.
The Bullets scored six runs off five hits in the top of the fifth
inning to take a 7-3 lead. Mount Pulaski's Tanner Farris crushed a
two-run homer to right field to make the score 7-5. Ben Fricke, who
singled in the inning, scored on the Farris home run.
The Bullets busted the game wide open in the top of the seventh
inning with five runs scored.

The Hilltoppers had to settle for their second loss of the season,
as Williamsville came away with the 12-5 win.
The Bullets pounded out 14 hits. Mount Pulaski had seven hits.
Tanner Farris got the loss for Mount Pulaski. Farris went four and
one-third innings allowing seven runs on eleven hits. He struck out
four batters and walked one.
Luke Roberts got the win for Williamsville. He worked four innings,
giving up three runs on four hits. Roberts struck out seven
Hilltoppers and walked one.
The Hilltoppers record falls to 5 wins and 2 losses.
