Lincoln faced Tri-Valley
on Thursday at Mike Curry Field and the Railsplitters came up
with a couple big middle innings to take home the 12-7 win.
Lincoln led 1-0 in the first
inning on an RBI groundout by Drew Singleton. The Railsplitters added
two more runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Drew
Singleton and an RBI single by Nate Arnold.
Tri-Valley tied the game 3-3 in the top of
the fourth inning but Lincoln's offense came up with a big
bottom half in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on six hits.
Singles by Brenden Eigenbrod, Justin Long, Will Ewald, Noah
Funk, Drew Singleton and Arnold led the offense. Throw in a
hit-by-pitch to Colton Holliday and the runs were scoring
quickly in Lincoln's half of the inning. With the bases loaded,
Eigenbrod entered the batter's box again and this time he drew a
bases loaded walk to score Drew Singleton with the eighth run
of the game.
Lincoln took an 8-3 lead into the fifth
inning. Tri-Valley threatened the lead by plating four runs in
the fifth inning. The Railsplitters took advantage of some
miscues by Tri-Valley in the bottom of the fifth inning and
scored three more runs.

After two outs, Ewald and Funk walked. Drew Singleton knocked in
Ewald on a single. Funk would come around to score on an error
by the catcher and Singleton reached home on a wild pitch
later.
Lincoln was up 11-7 heading into the
sixth inning. The Railsplitters added an insurance run in the
sixth inning on an RBI single by Poszgai.
The 12-7 win was credited to
Lincoln's Noah Funk. Funk pitched two and two-thirds innings,
allowing no runs and just one hit. Funk struck out four batters.
Cameron Glick started the game for Lincoln. Glick pitched four
innings, giving up three runs on three hits. He struck out seven
batters. Justin Long finished the game out of the bullpen.
Lincoln pounded out 15 hits versus
Tri-Valley, with Funk leading the way with a 3-for-3
performance.
Lincoln's record improves to 6-4.
The Railsplitters will play at Southeast
High School today at 4:30 p.m.
