County Sheriff Mark Landers announces Peacemakers Scholarships

The 2019-2020 Peacemakers Scholarship is
available to dependents of active duty or retired Law Enforcement or
Law Enforcement killed in line of duty death or dependents of active
Military Reserve, active National Guard, or a member killed in
action.

The scholarships are to be applied to tuition, books
and fees only. The student must be enrolled full-time at a certified
institution of higher learning.
There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race,
age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are
as follows:

Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents.

Scholarships are to be utilized at institutions
of higher learning.

Students must be enrolled as a full-time student
during the 2019-2020 school year (excluding summer session).

Scholarship applicants must be dependents of
active duty or retired Law Enforecement or Law Enforcement
killed in line of duty death or dependents of active duty
military, active Military Reserve, active National Guard, or a
member killed in action.

Applications are now available at your local Sheriff's office or
on the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association Website
www.ilsheriff.org.
Students must complete the application, answer the essay question
and return all documentation to the Sheriff's office in their permanent county
of residence on or before May 15, 2019 (must be postmarked by this date).
