LINCOLN

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week this week, April 14-20. Sponsored by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International and celebrated annually, it is a time to honor the thousands of men and women who work behind the scenes to answer calls for help, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment, and render life-saving assistance to the world’s citizens.

These highly trained and dedicated dispatchers serve our citizens and ensure to the best of their abilities that everyone is kept safe from harm. They are on duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year and often miss holidays and events with their families.

They make these sacrifices to help protect lives and property by receiving vital information and dispatching law enforcement officers, medical professionals, and fire personnel to provide direct assistance.

The critical role that dispatchers play and the skills they demonstrate clearly enhance the safety of everyone in the community.

Sheriff Mark Landers and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office honors, celebrates, and thanks our dispatchers for the work that they do to serve our community.
