Lincoln splits doubleheader with Effingham
Game one - Flaming Hearts no-hit
Railsplitters in 6-0 win
Game two - Railsplitters beat Flaming Hearts 6-3 in 11-inning affair

The Railsplitters spent the day
at Effingham on Saturday and split a doubleheader.
The Flaming Hearts won game one
6-0 on a no-hitter by Zach Lee. Lee threw 98 pitches over
seven innings and struck out 13 batters. He only allowed three
walks.
Alex Bogdanic suffered the loss
for Lincoln. Bogdanic allowed five runs on eight hits over three
and two-thirds innings. He struck out three batters.
Noah Funk worked two and
one-third innings for Lincoln, allowing a run on two hits. Funk
struck out two batters and issued one walk.
In game two the Railsplitters
scored three runs in the top of the third inning to take a 3-1
lead over Effingham.
Drew Singleton's bunt single
got things started for Lincoln in the third.
Noah Funk followed with a line
drive single to third.
Nate Arnold's RBI single to
right scored Drew Singleton to tie the game. Funk would score on
an error to give Lincoln the 2-1 lead.
Brenden Eigenbrod's double to
left field brought Arnold around to score and Lincoln was up
3-1.
Effingham added runs in the
fifth and sixth innings to tie the game 3-3.

The score remained tied until
the top of the eleventh inning with two outs. Dylan Singleton
reached base for the Railsplitters on a hit-by-pitch and he
advanced to third base on a line drive single by Drew Singleton.
Dylan Singleton scored the Railsplitters go-ahead run on an
error. An RBI single by Funk drove Drew Singleton home.
Colton Holliday's double to center brought
Funk home, but Arnold was out at home trying to score.
Lincoln took a 6-3 lead into the
bottom of the eleventh inning with Holliday on the mound for
Lincoln.
Holliday was able to strike out
the final two batters and get the 6-3 win for Lincoln.
Holliday's work included two innings pitched, allowing no runs
and no hits.
Game two
Nate Arnold got the start for
Lincoln in game two. Arnold pitched five innings, allowing two
runs on five hits. Arnold struck out seven batters.
Noah Funk pitched the middle
four innings for Lincoln. Funk allowed one run on two hits and
struck out five batters.
Lincoln had 13 hits in game two
versus Effingham.
Drew Singleton and Noah Funk
each had three hits to lead Lincoln.
