Lincoln Railsplitters come back to beat Bloomington Central Catholic

The Lincoln Railsplitters
overcame a 10-3 deficit against Bloomington Central Catholic
last Wednesday and scored nine runs late in the game to earn the
12-10 win.
Lincoln's offense exploded in
the fourth inning for three runs as Alex Bogdanic and Will Ewald
had RBI singles. Dylan Singleton added a sacrifice fly to score
a run. Lincoln trailed 4-3 at this point but Bloomington tallied
six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the 10-3
lead.
Lincoln
plated five runs in the fifth inning to close the gap to
10-8. Colton Holliday, Brenden Eigenbrod, Bogdanic and Ewald
each had RBI singles. Then it was Dylan Singleton stealing home
for the final run of the inning.
Lincoln took the lead in the
sixth inning. Noah Funk led off the top of the sixth with a
single and he quickly scored on a double to left field by
Holliday. Eigenbrod hit a double to centerfield that scored
Holliday with the tying run.

Bogdanic's double then scored
courtesy runner Cameron Glick with the go-ahead run. Lincoln
added an insurance run on an RBI single by Dylan Singleton.
Nate Arnold shut
down Bloomington in the final two innings and earned the save
for the Railsplitters. Lincoln gets the 12-10 victory thanks to
an offensive effort that included 15 hits by the Railsplitters.
Jayden Pollice earned the win
for Lincoln. Police tossed two innings, allowing three hits and
two runs. He struck out two batters.
Peyton Rickord was the starting
pitcher for Lincoln. Rickord gave up eight runs on six hits
while working three innings. Rickord struck out one batter and
walked one.
Bogdanic,
Ewald and Holliday each had three hits to lead the Railsplitters
in the win.
