Railsplitters defeat Morton 11-6
Arnold's home run in the first
inning ignites the offense

The
Lincoln Railsplitters were on the road Tuesday to take on
Morton. Lincoln pounded out 14 hits on the afternoon and
came away with the 11-6 win.
Lincoln was on the board early with a first-inning home run by
Nate Arnold. Arnold's two-run blast came with Noah Funk on base.
Justin Long added an RBI single in the first inning and the
Railsplitters jumped out to a 3-0 lead quickly.
Lincoln added three more runs in the third inning. Long's
two-run double to right field was the big hit of the inning.
Dylan Singleton added a bunt single to score Long and the score
was 6-0 in favor of Lincoln.
In
the fifth inning Lincoln plated three more runs.
Arnold's sacrifice fly accounted for a run, Drew Singleton
scored on a wild pitch and Colton Holliday added an RBI single.

The
Railsplitters added two more runs in the top of the seventh
inning. With Holliday dealing on the mound, Lincoln headed
south with 11-6 win.
Colton Holliday picked up the win for Lincoln. Holliday tossed
five and one-third innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
He struck out six batters. Justin Long pitched one and
two-thirds innings in relief.
Alex Bogdanic, Nate Arnold, Colton Holliday, Justin Long and
Dylan Singleton each had multiple hits for Lincoln.
Cole Stevens took the loss for Morton.
