The Lincoln College Baseball team took both ends of a doubleheader
over crosstown rival Lincoln Christian University on Sunday.

game 5-4 then took the second game 7-5.

Mattix went four innings giving up one earned run on five hits while
striking out four. Fellow junior Coby Isenbarger (New Castle, IN)
threw three innings in relief to seal the win.
Thornton Fractional High School grad Andrew Bernas took the hill for
the Lynx in game two and threw six strong innings for the win.
Bernas gave up three earned runs on six hits and struck out two.

Sophomore Sam Perdue of West Jessamine, Kentucky had three
hits including a double and drove in three runs. Second baseman
Devin Lasanska (Porta) picked up two hits and three RBI’s, and Ryan
Thomas (Lincoln) had two hits and two RBI’s as well.
“We were consistent in our overall play today and got a couple key
hits in both games that opened things up a bit,” said Lincoln Head
Coach Tony Thomas. “Our starters did a nice job of protecting leads
and keeping them from having any big innings,” he added.
Lincoln College (5-15) will host Illinois Central College for one
nine-inning game on May 1st at 3:00 PM.
