Mount Zion defeats Railsplitters 4-2

Lincoln hosted Mount Zion on Saturday at Mike Curry Field and the Braves scored three runs late in the game to defeat the Railsplitters by a final of 4-2. 

Lincoln held a 2-1 advantage going into the seventh inning, when the Braves took the lead. Lincoln scored the first run of the game in the first inning when Drew Singleton, Noah Funk and Nate Arnold each singled to load the bases. A sacrifice fly by Colton Holliday scored the only run of the inning. Mount Zion's starting pitcher, Nash Mose, got a strikeout and a groundout to get out of any further damage in the first inning.

In the bottom of the second inning Dylan Singleton drew a walk and came around to score when Drew Singleton doubled. Lincoln's lead was 2-0 early with Noah Funk on the mound.

Mount Zion scored a run in the sixth inning.

In the seventh inning the Braves took advantage of a hit by pitch and tied the game on an error. The Braves went up 4-2 on RBI singles. 

Noah Funk got the loss for Lincoln. He allowed three runs on three hits over six innings. Funk struck out eight batters and walked one. Nate Arnold pitched in relief of Funk.

Jacob Bailey earned the win for Mount Zion.
