4-H Cat and Guinea Pig Shows

[August 02, 2019]   4-H Cat Show

On Saturday, Lorena Leinweber of Best Friends Animal Hospital in Lincoln served as the judge for the annual 4-H Cat and Guinea Pigs Shows held at the Logan County Fairground.

The shows were combined shows that included participants for all three counties of the University of Illinois District 16 – Menard, Logan, and Sangamon.

In the cat show there were several participants this year; Aleaha Crane, Sarai Jackson, Azul Kong, Joessa McGinnis, Isabella Miller, Lauren Parkins, Clayton Skelton and Jonathan Wilcox.

Three plaques were given out as top awards.


Isabella Miller earned Best of Show with her kitten entry. Her plaque was sponsored by the Logan County 4-H Alumni Association. L to R: 2018 Little Miss Logan County Kylee Fulk, Miller, and Junior Miss Logan County Julia Collins.



Two plaques, one for Best of Show Outdoor Cat and the other for Best of Show Indoor Cat, were sponsored by the Goodman Family in memory of the late Harold Goodman and were presented to the winners by Debbie Goodman on behalf of the family.


Best of Show Outdoor Cat winner Sarai Jackson with 2018 Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Debbie Goodman on behalf of the Goodman family.


Best of Show Indoor Cat winner Azul Kong with 2018 Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Debbie Goodman on behalf of the Goodman family.

Guinea Pig Show

The Guinea Pig Show included four entries and was also judged by Leinweber.


In the show, the Best of Show award went to Daniel Crider. His plaque was sponsored by the Goodman family in memory of the late Harold Goodman, and was presented by Debbie Goodman.


All the other participants earned blue awards for their entries. Participants were L to R: Joessa McGinnis, Madilin Brooks, Daniel Crider and Isabella Miller.
