Mildred Maxine Lessen Hoffert, 100,
passed away on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at St.
Clara’s Manor.
Mildred was born on December 4, 1918 in Hedrick, IA;
the daughter of Hayung and Freida (Milhahn) Lessen.
She married Raymond Hoffert on April 26. 1945 in St.
Louis.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband:
Raymond, Sisters: Gertrude Clausen, Wilhemina
McDaniel, infant Sophia, infant Freida, Anna Ranney,
Lucille Downing, and Helen Hasenmyer, her brothers:
Henry Lessen, infant John, William Lessen, and Harry
Lessen. Mildred is survived by several nieces and
nephews.

She worked as a telephone operator
for General Telephone Company and was a waitress at
Lessen Restaurant in Lincoln. Mildred was a member
of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
Services for Mildred will be 11:00 a.m. Monday July
22, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln, IL.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial
at New Union Cemetery will follow the service.
Memorials may be made in Mildred’s name to Immanuel
Lutheran Church.
Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home.
