Pat Burke, Sr., 78, of Bloomington, passed away peacefully on
Wednesday, July 17, 2019.

Obituary
Pat Burke, Sr., 78, of Bloomington,
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.
Born in Macomb, he graduated from Macomb’s Western
High School and Western Illinois University (WIU).
He earned a Master’s Degree in Economics from WIU.
He held various administrative positions at WIU and
Spoon River Community College in Canton, IL. He
taught his beloved economics as well as accounting
and business education at Lincoln College at both
the Lincoln and Bloomington campuses for 20 years
before retiring in 2008.
Golfing and analyzing the golf swing were his
passions. He was a lifelong, dedicated fan of
University of Illinois football and basketball and
the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He enjoyed coaching
youngsters in football, baseball, and golf. He was a
devotee of C-SPAN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond
John of Macomb and Esther Docia (Van Ormer) of
Huntsville, IL; brothers John (Loretta) and Richard
(Virginia); sisters Agnes (Wayne) Schlegel, Mary
(Robert) Weeks, Patricia (Joseph) Moran, Helen
(Fred) Gietl, and infant Rose Marie; father- and
mother-in-laws Arthur and Gladys (Homerding)
Anderson; and brother-in-law Jim Black.
He is survived by his wife June (Anderson); son
Patrick, Jr.; grandson John Patrick; sister-in-law
Judy Black; and brother-in-law Arthur “Chip”
Anderson. Pat had 20 nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial and a private interment at
Lockport City Cemetery have been held.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you for
their kindness and competency to the staffs of OSF
St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL; OSF Health
Care St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington; and
Heritage Health in Normal, IL. |
