Obituary
John “Mike” Moore, 77, of Lincoln,
passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his home
surrounded by his adoring family.
John was born on June 26, 1942 in Eldorado, the son
of Leslie and Martha Moore. He married Janet Ware on
April 24, 1971 in Lincoln. She survives in Lincoln.
John is also survived by his son, Ronald (Stacy
Wheeler) Moore of Lincoln, his daughter, Angie Moore
of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Nina, Chris, and
Sammy; his step grandchildren, C.J. and Shelby; his
great-grandchildren, Bentley, Zoie, Hayden,
Charlotte, and Angelina; his
step-great-great-grandchildren, Kensley, Skye, and
Addelen; his sisters, Dolores Jean Brockschmidt and
Sara Moore; his brother, Dennis “Denny” Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his
siblings, Wayne, Kenneth, Anita, Marjorie, and
Terry.

John proudly served his country in
The United States Marine Corps from 1964-1969. John
loved watching television especially The Price Is
Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. John was an
avid sports fan as well, especially his St. Louis
Cardinals and Chicago Bears. He was also a very
skilled and experienced woodworker. Above all else,
John loved his family and his dog “Brown Boy”.
Services for John will be held at 11:00am on Monday,
July 29, 2019 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place two
hours prior to the service (9:00-11:00am) also at
the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at
Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
Military rites will be accorded by the Lincoln
American Legion Post #263.
Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
