Olympia FFA member, Shelby Lynch was the high point
individual overall in the horse division after winning her halter
class, showmanship, English riding, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western
Horsemanship and Ranch Horse Pleasure. Shelby was also second place
in Western Pleasure and trail riding.

Alyssa Casey was reserve high point overall as she
was the winner in Western Pleasure, trail riding, and barrel racing.
Alyssa was also 2nd in showmanship, English riding, equitation and
horsemanship.
Ryleigh Hilt had a very good day as well in the arena. Ryleigh was
2nd place in pole bending and 3rd in horsemanship, trail riding and
western pleasure.
Hannah Casey also showed in 10 different horse classes and was near
the top in each one.
In the beef barn, Olympia FFA member, Tyler Miller
was very successful. Tyler had Grand Champion Heifer over all breeds
with his Champion Chi heifer. He also earned Reserve Champion Angus
heifer.
In the hog barn, the Simpson sisters and Davis cousins were busy
showing their livestock.

Elizabeth Davis won Champion and Reserve Champion
Spot barrows as well as Reserve Champion Spot gilt.
Ethan Davis won Champion Poland gilt and placed very
well with his other hogs.
Kari Simpson won Champion Chester White gilt, Reserve
Champion Berkshire gilt and Reserve Champion Hampshire gilt.
Kaylin Simpson won Champion All Other Breeds barrow and stated, “I
like the FFA Fair because it’s a great opportunity to show off all
the hard work that we put into our livestock.”
These FFA members work countless hours with their livestock
preparing them for the show ring. They also spend a lot of time
looking for ways to improve the genetics among their herds.
Most of these FFA members will compete at several shows this summer
and fall.
