 For the third year in a row, the Physical Therapist
Assistant (PTA) program has posted a 100 percent pass rate on the
National Physical Therapy Examination to become eligible for
licensure. The national pass rate average is 88.1 percent.
The national examination was administered to Spring 2019 graduates
in April and July and results were posted shortly after.
“The success of the Heartland PTA program is a positive blend of the
amazing support from our administration, the tireless pursuit
towards excellence from the faculty, and most importantly, the hard
work and dedication of our passionate students,” says Stephanie
Turner, PTA instructor and Academic coordinator of Clinical
Education. “Our students inspire us every day with their
achievements, and it is our hope to continue to inspire future PTA
students to have this same level of accomplishments for years to
come here at Heartland.”
Heartland’s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
program became fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation
in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) on April 26, 2017.

In order to become a licensed PTA, students must graduate from an
accredited program to become eligible to sit for the national licensure exam.
About the PTA program
Physical Therapist Assistants provide physical therapy treatments under the
direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist to help people
recover from injuries, illnesses and surgeries.
