[August 30, 2019]    Mount Pulaski opened their 2019 volleyball season at home on Thursday night. The Lady Toppers swept Riverton despite a couple close sets.

The JV kicked off the evening by winning in two sets, 25-10 and 25-23.

The Varsity downed Riverton 25-18 and 31-29. Alexis Wade led the Lady Toppers with 10 kills. Paige Stewart had 7 kills.

Following the season opener, Mount Pulaski head coach Donna Dulle offered her thoughts on the win, "I think there's a lot of room for improvement," said Dulle. "It's a pretty young team out there at times. The older kids need to step up for us and be more consistent leaders. I think the younger kids will grow. They've got some athletic ability and they just need to grow with it. But again I think we have to have those younger kids learning from the older kids."

Mount Pulaski will play at Williamsville on Tuesday. The JV game is scheduled for 6 p.m. with Varsity to follow.
