Mount Pulaski gives state-ranked Casey-Westfield a run for their money

[December 09, 2019]    The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers traveled to Casey Saturday night to play Casey-Westfield, the no. 8 state-ranked Class 1A team in Illinois. While Mount Pulaski would eventually fall by a final score of 63-60, the Hilltoppers definitely put up an impressive fight the entire game.

 

Mount Pulaski led 43-41 going into the final quarter without starter Grant Davis, who left the game after an injury in the first quarter.

Drew Martin led the Hilltoppers with 19 points. Brandon Kretzinger tossed in 16 points and Lane Murphy added 12 points.

In the JV game, Mount Pulaski lost 61-27 to Casey-Westfield.

Mount Pulaski will host Clinton Tuesday night. The JV game will tip-off at 6 p.m. Varsity is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
