Obituary
Florence Margaret Diel, 94, of
Lincoln passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 at
St. Clara's Rehab and Senior Care Center.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Diel will be held on
Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Island
Creek Cemetery near Montrose, Illinois, with Mr.
Gary Hall officiating.
Florence Margaret Johnson was born on August 29,
1925 in Eagle Island, Idaho the daughter of Earl and
Anna (Reynolds) Johnson. She was united in marriage
to Willis D. Diel on November 18, 1944 in Boise,
Idaho. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1981.
She is survived by her two daughters: Suzanne
(Thomas) Be Dell and Sharon (William) Beeler; three
grandchildren: Chris (Sheree) Bailey, David
(Christie) Funk, and Darby (Kristen) Be Dell; two
great-grandchildren: Hudson Funk and Mirren Bailey;
Caregiver: Mindy Leith; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three
brothers: Ted, Kenneth, and George Johnson.
Florence retired from the Department of Employment
Security with the State of Illinois. She also helped
her husband farm on the family farm. Florence
enjoyed nature and loved flowers. She was devoted to
her family and will be greatly missed.
