Obituary
Gary L. Pharis, 68, of Mount Pulaski,
passed away at 12:37 a.m. Wednesday December 4, 2019
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Gary was born on September 13, 1951 in Lincoln, to
Junior and Maymie (Smith) Pharis. He married Penny
J. Hatfield on February 18, 1984 in Mount Pulaski.
She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Laura (Bob
Richardson II) Pharis of Mount Pulaski, Mandi (John)
Kruse of Salem, IN, and Aaron (Jennifer) Wilham of
Mount Pulaski; his grandchildren, Brady, Garrett,
Wyatt, Kaylee, Tanner, Bodi, Makenna, and Karsyn;
his brother, Eddie (Jane) Pharis of Mount Pulaski.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary worked construction most of his
life and also ran Pharis’s Memories ‘N’ Meals on the
Square in Mount Pulaski. He was a past member of the
Mount Pulaski Rotary, Lincoln Gun Club, Chestnut
Men’s Club and was a member of the Chestnut
Methodist Church.
Graveside services for Gary will be held at 10:00
a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Steenbergen
Cemetery in Mount Pulaski.
Memorial donations may be made in Gary’s name to
Memorial Home Hospice.
Services have been entrusted to
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.
