Obituary
Zachary R. Hawkins, 23, of Pekin,
formerly of McLean, passed away at his home on
Sunday, December 15, 2019.
No services are planned. A private burial will be
held at the McLean Cemetery.
Zachary Ryan Hawkins was born January 11, 1996, in
Normal, the son of Angel Cochran Hawkins of Minier
and Perry Hawkins of McLean.
Surviving are his mother and father; brother, Blake;
maternal grandparents, Walt Cochran of McLean, and
Sharon and Bob Pitts of rural Armington; paternal
grandparents Janet and Gary Hawkins of rural McLean;
paternal great-grandmother Toni Hawkins of Lincoln;
uncles: Alex (Jennifer) Hawkins, and Matt Hawkins,
both of McLean; and Chad Cremeens of Hopedale;
aunts: Nikki Cremeens of Mapleton, Karla (beloved
uncle Jon) Steward of Murfreesboro, TN; cousins and
best friends forever: T.J., Ty, and Taylor Steward,
Kelsy, Riley, Sydney, and Sophie Cremeens, and
little Rylee Hawkins; and his faithful companion,
Turbo. |
Zach was a 2014 graduate of Olympia
High School. He was employed with Johnson Controls
for four years after graduating from Lincoln College
of Technology in Indianapolis. He met many wonderful
co-workers and had great admiration for his manager.
Zach had a beautiful spirit, a big heart, and a
contagious laugh. We cannot forget those awesome
green eyes like his mother and maternal grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
