							Obituary

Deborah Jo Faner, 62, of Shawnee,
Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in
							Lincoln.
Deb was born on October 16, 1956 in Peoria, daughter
of Leonard and Alta (Schertz) Faner.

Surviving Deb are her parents: Leonard Faner of
Peoria and Alta Gehrke of Lincoln, IL; her life long
friend: Cathy Campbell, her sisters: Kathy Moorhead
and her son Andrew Moorhead, twin sister: Diane
Faner, and Amy Butler; her step brothers and
sisters: Marilyn (Karl) Turner, Marj Medina, Linda
(Brad) Helgeson, Brenda (Greg) Roosevelt, David
Gehrke, John Gehrke, and Diane (Larry) Cook.

Deb’s daily reading of the Holy Scriptures and her
time working with the Overland Park, KS, Bible Study
Fellowship group evidenced her desire to grow in
Christ. Thank God she will finally get every one of
							her questions answered!

She loved to travel to week-long acoustic music
festivals, all night camp outs and even cross
country drives for celestial events. She could tell
you which planet was visible in the sky, call out
many stars by name and point out a new conjunction.
Deb especially loved long motorcycle trips - the
							longer the better!

Deb was passionate about finding ways
to make her family’s lives better. Her nephew summed
it up beautifully for all of us by saying she was
the most selfless person he ever met.
A memorial gathering will be held to
celebrate Deb’s life at Cracker Barrel Old Country
Store in Lincoln, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on
							Saturday, February 2, 2019.
Family and friends, we have been feeling your out
pouring of love. Thank you!! If so inclined to send
something, send prayers for comfort and strength.
Spring will be here soon. If inclined to send
flowers, maybe in lieu of, send flower or vegetable
seeds or a plant bulb. 25 Rigg Drive, Lincoln, IL
62656. Or maybe best of all, plant something and
send us a text, photo or card about the
corresponding patch of land or home.

Diane Faner (Deb always said her better half) has a
Face book page (or Cathy-garden5408@yahoo.com) and
would be happy to hear your stories and she’ll
attempt to send you all photos or texts about the
plantings. This is new to us. Most of our
experiences going forward will be new to us - - Deb
							was our leaning post.
