The Pirates said the deal includes an
invitation to the major league camp.
Liriano, 35, would earn $1.8 million if he makes the major
league roster, according to The Athletic.
Liriano previously spent four seasons with the Pirates, going
41-36 with a 3.67 ERA in 107 starts from 2013-16. He won a
career-high 16 games in 2013.
Last season, Liriano struggled with the Detroit Tigers and went
5-12 with a 4.58 ERA in 27 appearances (26 starts).
Liriano is 107-111 with a 4.18 ERA in 350 career appearances
(300 starts) over 13 seasons. He was an American League All-Star
for the Minnesota Twins in 2006, when he went 12-3 with a 2.16
ERA in 28 appearances (16 starts).
Liriano pitched for Minnesota from 2005-12. He also has played
for the Chicago White Sox (2012), Toronto Blue Jays (2016-17)
and Houston Astros (2017).
