The Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers knocked off the Fisher Bunnies 56-43 in regional action Wednesday night at Decatur LSA.

The game started as a back-and-forth affair between the two teams until the score was knotted 12-12 at the end of the first quarter.

Mount Pulaski took the lead in the second quarter on a three by Skylar Hayes and never looked back.

The Lady Toppers quickly ran out to a 20-12 lead after baskets by Chloe Olson and Isabella Wade.

With starters Abigail Fitzpatrick and Morgan May contributing to the offense the score was 27-14 with just under three minutes to play until halftime.

Kaylee Wilham came in off the bench and quickly made an impact for the Lady Toppers. The 5'3 junior fired a nice pass thru the lane to May for a layup and Mount Pulaski was in the lead 29-15.

Mount Pulaski led 35-23 at the half.

After Wilham's back-to-back threes in the third quarter Mount Pulaski held a solid 42-28 lead.

The game was low scoring in the third quarter but the physicality of the game was at a high. No blood was shed but elbows were tossed, with the Lady Toppers coming out on top 45-30 as the third quarter ended.

The fourth quarter was just a matter of Mount Pulaski holding their composure and their lead. They did.

[to top of second column]
