The Lincoln College Men’s Basketball team
successfully defended their home court on Tuesday evening by
defeating the visiting Lincoln Christian University Red Lions
76-68.
The LC offensive assault was led by junior guard Trayvon Tyler
(Rockford). Tyler had the hot hand going 8-for-14 from the field
to total 24 points in the game. Six of Tyler’s buckets were
three-pointers.
A trio of other Lynx players scored in double-digits. That group
included senior J.J. Turner (Chicago) who scored 13 points,
sophomore Darnell Latham Jr. (Chicago) who was good for 10, and
senior Julian Powell who combined 10 points and 11 rebounds for
yet another double-double.
Lincoln College led by four at the half (35-31) then extended
their lead to as many as 15 points in the second half before
settling for the 8-point victory which pushed their season
record to 18-7.
LC Assistant Coach Edwind McGhee recognized the effort it took
to earn this win. “LCU played with a lot of energy in the first
half and really tested us,” said McGhee. “We did a nice job of
keeping our composure and making the plays we needed to down the
stretch to get the win.”
Lincoln College will continue their home stand with a 7:00 PM
game against William Woods University on Wednesday evening.
