Boxberger, 30, moved into the closer's role for the Arizona
Diamondbacks last season, earning 32 saves in 40 chances with a
4.39 ERA over 60 appearances.
A former first-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2009,
Boxberger also had a 41-save season for the Tampa Bay Rays in
2015 when he was an American League All-Star. He has also
pitched for the San Diego Padres in a seven-year career, posting
a 3.42 ERA in 291 appearances, all in relief.
Boxberger did give up nine home runs last season, tying a career
high, and had an 11.37 ERA in nine September appearances with
the Diamondbacks, raising his overall ERA by nearly a full run.
