The Lincoln College Women’s Basketball team
made the long bus ride to Paragould, Arkansas worth the effort
on Tuesday evening by defeating Crowley’s Ridge College 66-44.
The victory was the team’s fifth straight and pushed their
record to 15-12 on the season.
Sophomore forward Kaleia Montiero (Rockford) turned in another
standout performance by recording team highs in points (16) and
rebounds (13) for yet another double-double. Juniors Hannah
Cameron (Lincoln) and Emoni Smith (Indianapolis, IN) each had 11
points while sophomore guard Victoria Malone (Rockford) dished
out six assists.
Lincoln Head Coach DeRonte Polite said he was, “proud of the
effort, even though we did not shoot well tonight, we played
hard and stuck together.”
Lincoln will hit the road again on February 14th to take on
Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Indiana. Tip-off is set
for 5:00 PM.
