Lincoln Junior High Wrestlers Wednesday and Thursday night match results

Lincoln Junior High Trojans wrestling team completed against the Taylorville Junior High Wednesday evening and finished their last home match with a 70-23 victory on 8th grade night, to move the season record to 15-9.

Winners for the Trojans were 75lb Miley Sampson, 80lb Logan Baker, 90lb Jacob Lawrence, 95lb Noah Johnson, 100lb Grant Laubenstein, 105lb Colbie Glenn, 112lb Isaac Decker, 126lb Dawson McConnell, 145lb Wyatt Mammen, 155lb Tristan Barger, 185lb Nicccolas Sundeen, 215lb Ashton Koontz and HWT Ryan ODonoghue.

It was a nice win for the Trojans and a fun night with the Lincoln Youth Wrestlers also competing on the second mat.

The Trojans wrestling team finished off the regular season Thursday evening with a tight 46-45 loss to Monticello before dropping a 63-33 loss to host Normal Chiddix to finish the season with a 15-11 final record.

“We fought hard against Monticello before a couple of seasoned wrestlers made some critical mistakes at the end of their matches and was undermanned against Chiddix giving up 30 points in forfeits. Overall it was a good regular season and it’s now time to concentrate on the post season,” states coach Dawson.
