“Something’s Afoot,” a musical spoof of murder mysteries is now on stage at Lincoln College.

The musical runs from Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 14-16 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. It will also run the following week, Feb. 21-23, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2:30 p.m. It is at the Johnston Center on the Lincoln College campus on the mainstage theater.

The play involves a group of people who are invited to the lake estate of Lord Dudley Rancour. When the wealthy lord is found dead, it's a race against the clock to find out whodunit. Along the way, family secrets and unexpected connections are revealed. As the guests begin dropping like flies, only one thing is certain – the butler didn’t do it. General admission is $5, with a special $1 price for students.

The play premiered in Atlanta in 1972, and moved to Broadway in 1976. It later ran in London beginning in 1977 and was nominated for an “Oliver Award” as the best musical of the year. The book, music, and lyrics were written by James McDonald, David Vos, and Robert Gerlach, with additional music by Ed Linderman.
