The Lincoln Railers ended
their regular season Friday night with a 43-30 loss to Normal
West.
The story of the game is
pretty much Lincoln's struggle with getting shots to fall. The
Wildcats led 15-4 after the first quarter. Only Jermaine Hamlin
and Kaden Froebe managed to score for Lincoln.
The second quarter offered
very little offense for Lincoln as well. Froebe's four points
were all that fell for the Railers and Normal West took a 20-8
halftime lead into the locker room.
Lincoln did manage to
close the gap early in the third quarter with Froebe starting
things off with a steal and a coast-to-coast layup.
Dylan Singleton hustled
under the basket for an offense rebound and the putback.
Seconds later Froebe hit a
three and the Railers were fighting back, trailing 20-15.
That run was nice but
short-lived. The Wildcats defense shut down the Railers the rest
of the quarter and at the end of three the lead was stretched to
26-16.
The fourth quarter saw
the Railers finally hit for a trio of three-pointers but all the
offense was a little too late. The Wildcats ran away with the
43-30 win.
In an exciting JV game
the Railers pulled off a thrilling 50-46 win over Normal West in
four overtimes.
The game was tied 28-28
in regulation.
It was 33-33 after the
first OT.
A 39-39 score was
the result of the second OT.
