Swift Current Energy has had the great opportunity to
work within the Logan County community on the HillTopper
and Whitney Hill wind farms – bringing jobs, direct
payments to communities, landowners, and project
neighbors, as well as, adding to the property tax base
of Logan County.
Our first project, HillTopper, involved over a $300
million investment and is now operational – selling
clean, cost-effective energy to General Motors,
Bloomberg, Starbucks, and Spectrum. With our second
project, Whitney Hill, is anticipated to start
construction in late spring 2019. Both projects have and
will support hundreds of construction related jobs and
going forward will provide for about 10 permanent jobs
in operations. Additionally, the payments into the host
communities will foster economic development and allow
for real change to occur.
Through my engagement with Logan County, Kevin
Batemen has stood out as a steadfast supporter of
economic development, with a can-do, common sense
approach to tackling issues and finding forward moving
solutions. Kevin works through difficult situations to
find solutions that bring people together.
Sincerely,
Matt Birchby
