The Board of Trustees has approved the move of Dr.
Sarah Diel-Hunt from her current position of Associate Vice
President for Academic Affairs into the newly-created positon of
Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services.
The move is a part of a realignment for the college that centralizes
instruction under one division and moves the scope of responsibility
for enrollment and student services into a separate division.
As V.P. of Enrollment and Student Support Services, Diel-Hunt will
direct enrollment service functions such as admissions, financial
aid, testing and records as well as athletic and fitness operations,
international student support, counseling, secondary education
partnerships and student access.
Previously, responsibility for oversight of Student Services were
under the scope of Academic Affairs. In this new alignment Diel-Hunt
will direct a Strategic Enrollment Management process for the
College to help expand support for current and prospective students.
“This realignment of functions reinforces our commitment of making
affordable education accessible for all individuals in our
community,” said Heartland President Keith Cornille. “Aligning
academic programs under one area will help with a consistency of
instruction and also enhance innovation, leading to new academic
offerings to meet the current and future workforce.”

The Academic Affairs division, under Vice President Rick Pearce,
will take on the additional oversight of Adult Education as well as Work Ready
programs such as Phlebotomy, Dental Assisting, Truck Driving and Medical
Assistant.
Another purpose of the realignment is to improve Heartland’s responsiveness to
community needs.
Kelli Hill, under the new title of Vice President for External Relations, will
take on the oversight of additional outreach responsibilities. Hill will oversee
the regional centers in Lincoln and Pontiac and work with Economic Development
Councils, WIOA-CareerLink programs, and Business and Industry partners in order
to provide a single point of contact within the College.
