Today
we wrap up "2018 Year in Review." The Photo of
the Year is the work of LDN photographer Mitch
Douglas. Douglas caught an amazing shot that
lasted less than a second at Dock Dogs during
the Pigs and Swigs Festival. It is packed full
of personality. The expression on the face of
the dog looks almost joyous and we love how it
appears he is making eye contact with the camera
while mid-air, closing in on his target. We love
the "Good dog!" look on the face of the handler
as he stands in the background and watches his
animal perform. All-in-all it is a perfect
representation of capturing a moment in time.
The Honorable
Mention Photo was taken at the July 4th
Children's Parade in Lincoln by Nila Smith. This
photo is about catching the joy of the moment.
The little guy is so photogenic that it would be
hard not to get a good shot of him. Again, there
is perfect eye contact with the camera and the
smile on his face is sweet and priceless. Though
it was a hot day, he proudly wore his Abraham
Lincoln costume and was looking forward to the
ride out to the Lincoln Park District from
Scully Park.
