[January 04, 2019]  Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital proudly welcomed its first baby of 2019 on Wednesday, January 2 at 4:47 a.m. Kadence Lane weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth.

Isaac and Jennifer Sheley of Chestnut, Illinois are her proud parents. Kadence will fit right in with this family of girls. She has two sisters, Addison (3) and Rylee (1).

And while Jennifer’s physician is Don Sielaff, MD, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology with Springfield Clinic Lincoln, Kadence was in too much of a hurry to wait for his arrival early Wednesday morning. Less than 30 minutes after arriving to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Kadence arrived with the help of ALMH Family and Maternity Suites nurse, Lindsey Burge.

“Lindsey was awesome,” said Jennifer Sheley. “My water broke so we came to the hospital and contractions started right away.”

ALMH’s Family Maternity Suites is a state-of-the-art obstetrical center that features spacious private labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum rooms with private restrooms and showers. Each mom and baby receives individualized care.
