The Lincoln College Men’s Basketball team continued their winning
ways on Thursday with an 83-65 win at home over the visiting St.
Ambrose University Bees (NAIA).
St. Ambrose came out strong to start the game, but Lincoln would
turn things around in the second half. Midway through the first half
of play, the Bees enjoyed an 11-point lead. That lead would grow to
16 points with under two minutes left in the half, but a five-point
run by the Lynx cut the SAU lead to 34-23 and gave LC some positive
momentum going into the break.
Lincoln was able to continue where they left off in the first half
by going on a 7-0 run to start the second and further cut into the
St. Ambrose lead. LC grabbed their first lead of the game at the
13:48 mark when a bucket by senior point guard Lejavius Johnson
(Glenwood) put the Lynx ahead 43-42. Lincoln went on to score ten
unanswered points to take a commanding 53-42 lead. Once in control,
the Lynx were able to cruise to the 83-65 victory and extend their
winning streak to seven games in a row.
