The Cleveland Indians acquired
catcher Kevin Plawecki from the New York Mets on Sunday in exchange
for right-hander Walker Lockett and infielder Sam Haggerty.
Plawecki, 27, batted .210 with seven homers and 30 RBIs in 79 games
last season. He missed six-plus weeks with a broken left hand.
In four big league seasons, Plawecki has a career average of .218

The Mets acquired Lockett from the San Diego Padres in November. The
24-year-old was 0-3 with a 9.60 ERA in four appearances (three
starts) for the Padres, and went 5-9 with a 4.73 ERA in 23 starts
for Triple-A El Paso.
