[January 11, 2019]   LINCOLN - Saturday was a really good day for getting outside and enjoying some sunshine and fresh air. For the hundreds of folks who gathered in the Lincoln IGA parking lot that was a good thing. The people lined up outside the local grocery store in order to spend some time checking out the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

The lines were so long, that they stretched half the length of the parking lot and the full length of the alleyway that runs directly behind the store.

Inside the store there was an equally impressive line of folks who were there to enjoy a free hotdog with all the trimmings courtesy of Lincoln IGA and Oscar Mayer.

The wienermobile was parked at the side of the building with its hatch-like door opened. As the lines progressed folks had the chance to step inside the iconic vehicle where they were greeted by “Dijon Jon.”

Along with getting a good look around, the guests to the vehicle were given a souvenir Oscar Mayer wiener-whistle.

Guests also had the opportunity outside the wienermobile to stick their head in a Oscar Mayer hotdog template for a quick photo.

Several enjoyed having that photo taken and they also enjoyed posing in front of the vehicle for a second shot.

Oscar Mayer’s “Grillin’ Gabs” spent most of her time visiting with people along the line, sharing her experiences and talking about her personal interests such as baton twirling.

In the line a few were heard to inquire of her about Logan County’s own wiener guide Cady Lowery. Cady is currently working the circuit with another wienermobile in another region of the country.

With Oscar Mayer wiener-whistles chiming throughout the parking lot it was a very fun and light-hearted day for everyone.
