Lincoln College held its first
induction ceremony of the newly established Sigma Alpha Pi chapter
of the National Society of Leadership and Success, on Saturday, Dec.
1. Fifty-six Lincoln College students were inducted into the
nation’s largest leadership honor society – joining a network of
more than 900,000 student leaders from more than 600 colleges and
universities across the United States.

Dean Bruns stands front and center at
the ribbon cutting for the 2018 Logan County Fair.
This past Monday, Dean went to be with his Lord and Saviour.
Visitation will be Friday evening at the Prairieland Christian
Church in Hartsburg. The funeral will be Saturday morning, also at
the church.

Students from Lincoln Christian
University gather around Santa Claus at the end of the night
Thursday night at the restored Historic Lincoln Depot. The students
provided hot chocolate and sweet treats to kids and parents as
children awaited their turn to sit on Santa's lap. The gift from the
students added a wonderful touch to a good evening drawing the
annual Downtown Lincoln Christmas Parade to a close.

December 12
The West Lincoln-Broadwell School
sixth grade science class traveled to the Challenger Learning Center
on Thursday morning. The CLC located on Heartland Community College
campus in Normal provides a unique space exploration environment
that immerses students in experiential problem based learning.
Heritage-in-Flight Museum donated the tuition for the class to
attend.

On December 3rd two Logan County
Veterans were part of the 200th Birthday Celebration Gala for the
state. The gala was held at Navy Pier in Chicago. During the evening
the program included a time of recognition for 200 of the state’s
notable veterans. Joe Schaler of Lincoln and Vince Long of Beason
were selected according to their outstanding service to their
community and local veterans since leaving military duty.
